Massive Deal goes down.

New Orleans gets Trevor Ariza, Indiana gets Darren Collison and James Posey, Houston gets Courtney Lee and New Jersey gets Troy Murphy. OK so who won. I say Indiana did the best but it seems everyone did OK except for the Rockets. Larry Bird needed to save his job as GM and I believe this has done it. He acquired great young point guard who will immediatly impact this team. Posey was just extra baggage. He is a decent player but not worth his contract. He could still be a decent option off the bench next year. So great job Indiana. 2nd place I would say is New Orleans. They got a replacement for Peja Stojakovic. Trevor is no star but can play great defence and run the floor well. They gave up alot to get him but they also are in crunch time trying to keep Chris Paul. Do I think they could have done better than Trevor Arriza for Collison? Yes. But Ariza is a good young piece. Ok next New Jersey. I actually think they did ok here. Clearly they dont think Favors is ready to start and now they seem to think Terrance Williams is the real deal as he will likely start in place of Lee. This team is much better than last year however. The Houston Rockets did very bad. Trevor Ariza was their starter and a good one to. He complimented this team by adding some athletic abilty to a squad that had very little. Courtney lee will come off the bench and Shane Battier into the starting lineup. Yao, Scola, and Battier have to be the most unathletic NBA frontcourt ever. This move will hurt them. Battier was good coming off the bench but I do not see him as a starter.

Will Dirk Nowitzki Ever Win a Ring

I think Dirk is the best power forward in basketball right now but right now, but for this year atleast, I have to say no. Mark Cuban will make a big move this year to try and get Dirk another piece to work with. But in terms of who is available you are looking at a long long shot with Chris Paul and Carmelo. These are the only available pieces that I think could push them over the top. They have to great defensive Centers. And a decent backcourt with Caron and Kidd. But now a days you need more than that to win a championship. I will never say he will never win a ring because Mark Cuban (Dallas Owner) has allott of money. But now in his career it looks unlikely. http://nbaguru.yolasite.com/

FIBA World Championship

Why are so many superstars dropping out the tournament. What happened to national pride. Pau Gasol, Dirk Nowitzki, Mehmet Okur, Manu Ginobli. This list is endless. I can actually understand why some of the older guys would not play. They don't want to get injured and it simply doesn't mean the world to the country like the soccer world cup does. But when a guy like Joakim Noah drops out to focus on a new cotract.  I mean come on his dad is famous and very wealthy tennis player so its not like he needs the money. Go and compete for country. Same with Tony Parker. Play a couple of games and with these two on the french side they could have a very good team. Same with many other players. It frustrates me to see all the big name foreingh players not go because it takes the fun out of the tournament. And Mehmet Okur, the tounament is in Turkey. How could you not play when your the host? Oh well, Spain vs USA should be a pretty good game to watch and i'm excited to see if young Ricky Rubio is the real deal. To rank the top countries right now i would say 1. USA 2. Spain 3. Greece 4. Brazil 5. Serbia 6.Argentina 7.Turkey 8.Lithuania 9.Israel 10.Italy  http://nbaguru.yolasite.com/

Can the heat win 72 games.

That seems to be the hot story now that van gundy has said they will. I'm not conviced they will win 72. They will play the Magic four times and the hawks four times. They will face the celtics and lakers multiple times. I think they are going to be very special but 72 means near perfection and thier not that this year. I say they win 65. The season after next however I might reconsider but lets not give them the best record ever in thier first year together. And don't forget who Van Gundys brother is. The coach of the Magic. Thier is nothing he would like more than to get in the minds of this team and put more presssure on them. http://nbaguru.yolasite.com/

Sending Teams to London

David Stern’s mission of making Basketball a global game is actually a huge success. The NBA is making huge strides in the world and is quickly gaining more speed. Soon it might be likely to takes its place after soccer as the world’s official number two sport. So this is all great news all of us fans want to see truly the best players in the world and with Basketball expanding we should see more and more foreign players. I don't actually have a problem with teams going mid season to another country to have regular season games. Players are surly able to handle flying on private planes and staying in 5 star hotels. But if you are going to make two teams go I think it is only fair to make every team go. Their are 30 teams. Pair them up and send them with a partner to another country and have them play a game. That is a great way of expanding the popularity of the sport and having it be fair for everyone. Oh but I do have this complaint. Aren’t we trying to expand the game? Did you hear who David Stern sent? The Boshless Raptors and Current worst team in the NBA the New Jersey Nets. Americans would have no interest in that game so why would any Europeans? Yes I understand the Nets new owner is Russian and that the raptors have a majority of their players from overseas but Europe is a big continent and the last time I checked neither team had anyone from England. And Why England? Why not Spain, give them credit for having the best basketball players other than the United States. Those are just my thoughts. Tracy McGrady

What are my views of Tracy McGrady? In his prime he was athletic and could get to the basket better than most. His size allowed him to shoot over players and his strength allowed him to back down and absorb contact while shooting and still make the bucket. Now however he is only a jump shooter. He is old and slow. But their are places for slower players who can still score. This is called the bench. But what happens to these superstars like Iverson and T-Mac is they are incapable of accepting this role. But T-Mac is more likely than AI to do it. The Pistons are his latest option after the Bulls backed out but I really see it as a terrible fit. They have a nice new center in Greg Monroe, a nice young forward in Austin Daye, and a relatively young point guard in Rodney Stuckey. Why are they getting older? Trade Hamilton and Prince, stop thinking you are contenders and try and build toward the future with the young players they have. The problem is that this organization is impatient, instead of waiting for this years free agency they spent big bucks on Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva last year. And now to sign T-Mac is saying they still want to win now. And with the east stronger than ever they should know that is not a possibility. Maybe T-Mac has some great games but he is not a player that can take a non playoff team and turn them into one. The only thing he will do is possibly move them out of having a chance at a high draft pick. http://nbaguru.yolasite.com/
